Free-Gliding SCFE Screw System™

The Free-Gliding SCFE Screw System is specifically designed to treat the most common hip problem in growing children: Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE). This screw is intended to prophylactically prevent or stop further slippage of the capito-femoral physis in children with open growth plates, without affecting the normal growth of the proximal femur.

Medial and lateral threaded fixations, connected through a trilobe self-extending shaft, aim to increase overall stability (both longitudinal and rotational) while avoiding the risk of premature physeal closure.

The Free-Gliding SCFE Screw System is available in 6.5 mm and 7.3 mm diameters, with lengths ranging from 60 mm to 102 mm in 2 mm increments, and with a maximum of 30 mm of growth potential.

PediFrag – Clavicle

OrthoPediatrics Corp. is pleased to announce the launch of the PediFrag™ Pediatric Specific Clavicle Plate. This innovative new plate is specifically designed for treating mid-shaft clavicle fractures in young patients. The OP Clavicle Plates are unique due to their pre-contoured shape. PediNail

PediNail™

The PediNail Intramedullary Nail is anatomically designed to meet the unique needs of pediatric and adolescent patients, and is available in diameters of 7, 8, 9, and 10mm with lengths ranging from 20-38cm. The procedure is performed using a lateral trochanteric entry point to facilitate a simplified procedure, and reduces the danger to blood vessels near the piriformis fossa.

The nails complex three-dimensional geometry includes a proximal lateral bend to accommodate its trochanteric entry point and smaller diameter that allows for easier insertion without the need for excessive reaming, or widening, of the canal. The nail also has an anterior bow, which mimics normal pediatric anatomy for children ages 8-16, as well as a distal lateral bend to ease insertion lateral to the greater trochanter, minimizing medial cortex interference.
