OrthoPediatrics is the first company whose total focus is helping children with orthopaedic conditions and injuries by providing the surgeons who care for them with anatomically appropriate implants. Children’s bones have anatomical differences such as growth plates that must be protected and curvatures that are greater than in adults. In the past, surgeons have had to modify implants that were primarily designed for adults in an effort to make them work in children.
We have assembled a team of industry experts in Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory, and Management that is disproportionate to the Company’s size but indicative of its commitment to build a new market in pediatric orthopedic surgery. Additionally, we have assembled a board of world-class pediatric orthopedic surgeons led by Dr. Peter Armstrong, former Chief Medical Officer of Shriners Hospitals for Children, a well-respected surgeon both nationally and internationally.
Providing these implants is important, but equally important is the development of critical relationships between surgeons and the Company. This ensures a constant flow of information in both directions that produces continuous process improvement and helps the child to receive the highest standard of care.
Inextricably linked to excellence in patient care are education and research. OrthoPediatrics is very proud to be a significant sponsor of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the International Pediatric Orthopaedic Symposium, the Scoliosis Research Society, the International Meeting on Advanced Spine Techniques, the European Pediatric Orthopaedic Society and the American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Research. This commitment to clinical education is disproportionate to the Company’s size. In addition, we are developing the necessary infrastructure that will allow us to support excellent clinical research in the future.
OrthoPediatrics is truly a different orthopaedic company!
