Terry Schlotterback
President of Spine
Terry Schlotterback comes to OrthoPediatrics by way of Zimmer Medical Holdings where he recently served as Division President. He brings a wealth of knowledge to OrthoPediatrics having spent over 25 years in orthopedics. His areas of expertise range from research and development, marketing, sales, business development to general management.
While at Zimmer, Mr. Schlotterback served in various executive leadership positions, including President of Zimmer's Trauma and Spine Divisions, which collectively accounted for over $250 million in annual sales for the publicly traded orthopedic company. Prior to serving at President, he served as Vice President of Sales for the $185 million Midwest Region and Vice President of Global Services where he developed a world wide data base management system, a Physician Practice Management program and a Digital Templating System. From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Schlotterback served as Zimmer's Vice President of New Product Development where he was responsible for all development activities for the Orthopedic Products Division, and developed an innovative process that led to the introduction of the industry's first minimally invasive techniques for total hip and knee replacement.
Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Schlotterback was responsible for the development of the Miller/Galante Knee System. The products launch in 1984 allowed a significant growth in the total knee market. By 1986 it represented the largest single product sales category at Zimmer. Terry went on to begin the development of the successor knee system, the NexGen knee which became the largest selling knee product in orthopedics. Prior to Zimmer, Mr. Schlotterback served in senior management roles for Johnson & Johnson's DePuy Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Division, Mitek Surgical Products, where he led new product development, research and business development, and the eventual acquisition of Mitek by Johnson & Johnson.
Mr. Schlotterback has a proven track record in new product launches, strategic and business planning, organizational leadership and relationship development. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Purdue University.
