Mr. Berry is the former President and owner of Precimed CMP, a world-wide leader in the design, development, and manufacturing of precision sheet metal and plastic fabrications. Mr. Berry joined Carr Metal Products, Inc. (CMP), a firm his father co-founded, in 1975. He was appointed president in 1985 where he would direct the company’s activities and growth strategies. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Berry developed an environment of innovation and superior product development by embracing new technologies and advanced manufacturing principals. In the mid-90’s, CMP pioneered a new concept – special cases and trays that significantly improved sterilization procedures for processing medical instruments and implantable materials. CMP also set the industry standard by pioneering the concept of screen-printing the graphic representations of instruments and part numbers, thus providing the ability to perform a quick visual scan to confirm that all essential components are present for surgical procedures.
Carr Metal Products was acquired by Precimed Group, a leading technology-driven supplier to the orthopedic industry, in 2006 which resulted in Mr. Barry’s company being renamed Precimed CMP. In 2009, Precimed was purchased by Greatbatch, Inc., a leading designer and manufacturer of high quality, innovative products and systems to customers in the cardiac, neuromodulation, orthopedics and commercial markets.
Mr. Berry is a graduate of Purdue University and remains an active consultant and advisor to the medical device industry.
