Dr. Peter F. Armstrong

Dr. Peter F. Armstrong has been Chief Medical Officer of Shriners Hospitals since 2000. Prior to his appointment, he was Chief of Staff of Shriners Hospitals for Children Intermountain (Salt Lake City). He received his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario Medical School in 1972.
Dr. Armstrong is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC), Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP). He is a member of numerous professional societies and organizations, among them: Canadian Orthopaedic Association; American Orthopaedic Association, American Burn Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, American College of Physician Executives, American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Armstrong completed the Kellogg Management Institute program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Leadership for Physician Executives program at Harvard Medical School. He has published over 50 scientific articles and book chapters, and over 30 scientific abstracts.
