OrthoPediatrics is a bio-science company dedicated to improving the resources available for treating children's orthopedic conditions through inventing, designing, and distributing innovative and anatomically appropriate implants, unique instrumentation and biologics for pediatric and small stature patients.

Children are not just small adults.^® This truth is the cornerstone on which OrthoPediatrics was founded. Because children are still growing, their body's response to injuries, infections and deformities can be quite different than an adult, as many of the problems children have with their bones and joints do not occur in adults.

Unfortunately, children who receive an implant usually receive an adult orthopedic product that was not originally intended for them. At best, an adult orthopedic device was altered and made smaller without regard for the fundamental physiological elements that differentiate pediatric anatomy from that of an adult. There are also those children who end up receiving implants originally designed for canines, or simply go without due to the lack of an appropriate device for children.

OrthoPediatrics is the first company of its kind to focus exclusively on developing anatomically appropriate implants for children suffering from orthopedic conditions. By assembling a team of industry experts in management, orthopedic engineering, marketing, regulatory and finance, OrthoPediatrics is putting significant resources behind much needed innovation. To guide product innovation, OrthoPediatrics has assembled a board of world-class pediatric orthopedic surgeons that is led by Dr. Peter Armstrong, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Affairs for the Shriners Children’s Hospital System.
